Pū — Hawaiian Conch (the iPhone app and the website puhawaii.com)
Made in Hawaiʻi by JKG Inc · Effective October 6, 2026

Pū lets you tap to blow a real Hawaiian conch, alone or together with a group. We built it to collect nothing about you. This page explains exactly what the app and website do and don't handle.

The short version

Group sync (Leader and Wave)

When you use Leader or Wave, your phone connects to our small relay server so phones in the same group can sound together. All the relay sees is the room code you type or create (for example HULA), an anonymous random ID for that session, your wave section, and the timing signals that tell each phone when to sound. Nothing identifies you, and nothing is saved: the room disappears as soon as everyone leaves. Anyone who knows a room code can join that room, so don't put personal information in a room code.

The relay runs on Cloudflare. Like any internet service, Cloudflare briefly processes technical connection details such as your IP address in order to deliver and protect the connection. We don't log or store these details, and we don't use them to identify you.

Information kept on your phone

The app may remember simple settings on your device, such as the sound or play style you last used. This stays on your phone and is never sent to us. Deleting the app (or clearing your browser data for the website) removes it.

Purchases

On the App Store, Pū is a paid app. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your card or payment details, and Apple does not tell us who you are.

Website

puhawaii.com is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. As with any web host, Cloudflare may process technical request details (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.

Children

Pū is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.

Tips: If you don't hear the conch, turn up your volume. For group play, every phone should open Leader (or Wave) and use the same room code. Group sync needs an internet connection; solo play works offline.
